It has been integrat ed to ENTSO-E Continental Europe Synchronous Area (CESA) network since 201 0. Total electricity generation installed capacity has exceeded 88 GW as o f October 2018. Total length of the transmission lines has reached to 68\, 000 km. Number of substations at transmission level is around 1200. Electr icity generation was 297.3 billion kWh in 2017. Electricity generation has exceeded 300 billion kWh level during last 12 months as of October 2018. Electricity sector in Turkey was restructured following enaction of Electr icity Market Law in 2011 and electricity markets have established starting from 2006. Turkish Electricity Transmission Company (TEIAS) is owner and operator of the transmission system. 21 distribution regions are operated by Distribution System Operators. At generation side\, there are one state d owned company and many Independent Generation Companies (IPPs) in Turkey . Around 65% of the total electricity generation was done by IPPs in 2017. \nThe Power System Conference organized by CIGRE Turkish National Committe e (CIGRE Turkey) aimed to share knowledge and experience by bring experts from power utilities\, private companies and electricity industry as well as academicians from universities has been done with a wide participation in Ankara\, Turkey on the dates of 15-16 November 2018.\nAn invited paper\ , 30 reviewed papers on various subjects related to the power systems and a panel was included in the conference program.\nConference was started wi th opening speeches of Bahadir UÇAN (Chairperson of CIGRE Turkey NC Execut ive Committee) and Prof. Dr. Belgin EMRE TÜRKAY (Chairperson of Conference Science Committee) in the behalf of NC. Afterwards\, invited paper on the subject of “Turkish Electricity System: A Technological Overview to the F uture” was presented by Prof. Dr. Muammer ERMİŞ (Middle East Technical Uni versity-METU)\, Prof. Dr. Işık ÇADIRCI (Hacettepe University) and Prof. Dr . Özgül SALOR DURNA (Gazi University).
